LISTENING

 |
Ed Sheeran - +
This youngin can write a fun pop song about being homeless and addicted to drugs and make it foot tappy. He's got chops. |
 |
Trampled by Turtles - Stars and Satellites
This was the piece of vinyl I used to break in my new used record player. This album pulls at the heart. |
 |
Kim Deal - Walking with a Killer
Kim put out a new single and I like both sides, a lot. |
 |
Katy Perry - Teenage Dream
Alright I'm really not listening to this, but I saw that Part of Me movie about her and kinda fell for Katy. |
 |
Zac Brown Band - Uncaged
At first I was like, uh and then I was like sure, why the hell not? This is fun. |
 |
Rodriguez - Cold Fact
Saw him out in L.A. a few months ago. Blown away buy this dude. There's a movie called Finding Sugarman coming out. See that, buy this album or vice versa. |
READING
 |
Ready Player One
Ernest Cline
I really loved this. It's fluffy fiction, but hit the right pop culture nerves for me. |
 |
Seabiscuit: An American Legend
Laura Hillenbrand
Listened to this on the way to work and found it to be an engaging lesson in history and horses. |
 |
The Shape of Design
Frank Chimero
Currently devouring this in chapter chunks and thinking, lots. |
 |
Soon: A Drive into the Gap
Kevin Guilfoile
The first imprint on Field Notes Books. Perfect size, also? Baseball (which I equate with beer!) |
PLAYING
 |
Tomb Raider
This origin story reboot is fantastic. A most intense and exciting game. Excellent in all regards. Do I wish it was longer? Sure. But it was great fun every single minute. So. Awesome. |
 |
Ni No Kuni
This is so not my type of game (heavy RPG) but man it's beautiful. And the story is engaging. This is currently my goto game. (PS3) |
 |
Hay Day
And I said I didn't play RPGs, but that's pretty much what this FarmVille-like game is. I blame my friend Heather for making me play. It's a fascinating mechanic akin to gambling or using drugs. Completely wasteful and somewhat satisfying. Currently over it, but it was fun for a while. (iOS) |
 |
Dead Space
I'm late to the game, but this first installment of the third person shooter scares the shit out of me and I keep coming back for more. I've hit a wall with difficulty, but I'll trudge through. (XBOX/PS3) |
 |
Okami HD
Just downloaded this to dedicate some time to it proper. (PS3) |
 |
Rayman Origins
Ubisoft is making some beautiful games, and this one is among them. The Rayman series is great and this is a superfine installment. (PS3) |
 |
Outland
My favorite genre: side-scrolling platformer. This one's by Ubisoft and I've loved many of their games in the past. This one joins the list. (PS3) |
